The Fullerton and Northridge communities are grieving the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of Destiny Morris, a cherished student, dancer, and member of Zeta Tau Alpha at California State University, Fullerton. Destiny passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, leaving behind a deep sense of sorrow among classmates, friends, sorority sisters, teachers, and all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
Her passing has profoundly affected both California State University, Fullerton and California State University, Northridge, where Destiny’s kindness and spirit left a lasting imprint. As news spread, tributes began to pour in from those who admired her compassion, leadership, and vibrant presence.

Zeta Tau Alpha’s Theta Phi Chapter expressed tremendous grief over losing a sister whose joy radiated wherever she went. In a heartfelt tribute, Melissa Hashem, Vice President of Campus Relations and the chapter’s incoming president, reflected on Destiny’s unforgettable positivity. “Her smile and laughter truly lit up every room and inspired all of us to carry the same positivity she had,” Hashem shared. “Destiny had a natural way of making everyone around her feel loved and cared for. Her presence was enough to cheer us up.”
The fraternity extended its deepest sympathies to Destiny’s family, encouraging chapters and individuals to send condolences through ZTA’s International Office. Their message captured not only sorrow, but the profound appreciation they felt for Destiny’s friendship, leadership, and sisterhood.
Destiny’s influence was equally strong beyond the university. She grew up dancing at By Your Side Dance Studio, where she transformed from a shy young girl into a skilled performer and beloved teacher. Many in the studio community saw her as part of its foundation — someone whose dedication and kindness shaped countless younger dancers.
In a moving message, Deborah, the studio’s director, shared the community’s grief: “Many of you watched her grow up in this studio — from a shy little girl with an infectious laugh to a brilliant young woman whose kindness, talent, and dedication touched everyone she met. She was part of the soul of this place, and her loss is felt deeply by all of us.”
The studio announced it will create a memorial space where dancers, families, and friends can leave flowers, notes, or memories — a testament to the many lives Destiny touched through her art and mentorship.
As loved ones struggle to comprehend this unimaginable loss, the academic and dance communities stand united in grief. Destiny was known for her compassion, her ability to make others feel valued, and her unwavering commitment to her passions. Whether in the sorority house, the classroom, or the studio, she lifted others up with her sincerity and joy.
Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void, but her legacy — of kindness, creativity, leadership, and light — will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
