Girard Michael Antonino, 51, of Niantic, passed away on November 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on December 12, 1973, in New London, Girard was the cherished son of John and Linda (Dombrowski) Antonino of Waterford. His upbringing in a close-knit and devoted family shaped the man he became—one known for his loyalty, kindness, work ethic, and commitment to the people around him. Girard carried these values throughout his life, touching the lives of friends, coworkers, and customers alike.
Girard devoted his career to the family business as the sales manager at Girard Toyota BMW in New London, a role that allowed him to work alongside his loved ones while serving generations of customers. He was known not only for his professionalism and deep knowledge of the automotive industry but also for his warm, approachable nature. For many, buying a car from Girard meant more than a transaction—it meant being treated with honesty, respect, and genuine care. Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Girard’s memory during calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, located at 84 Montauk Avenue in New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, 149 Montauk Avenue, New London, with interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
